Synopsis

The central story follows Jumong, the son of Haemosu and Lady Yuhwa, who is raised in the palace of Buyeo by King Geumwa as his stepson. Initially portrayed as a weak, cowardly, and immature prince, Jumong is constantly scorned and overshadowed by his ambitious "half-brothers," Daeso and Youngpo, who vie for the Buyeo throne. A turning point occurs when Jumong leaves the palace, and through a twist of fate, encounters a blind, elderly man who teaches him martial arts and archery, transforming him into a formidable warrior. This mentor is unknowingly his own father, Haemosu. After Haemosu's tragic assassination, Jumong learns the truth of his parentage and vows to avenge his father and fulfill the lifelong mission of uniting the scattered Gojoseon tribes and driving out the Han forces.
